Hello! I am Alex, a birth and postpartum doula living on Duwamish land known as Seattle.

I did my first doula training in 2018, and began the shift from my previous career as a research biologist. My practice is informed by the years of continual education from doula trainings, Integrative Lactation and Feeding Specialist Course, Manhattan Birth Doula Mentorship, Childbirth Education Facilitator training, Spinning Babies Workshop, and hands-on experience supporting 18+ families.

I am deeply fascinated by the intersection of the perinatal time as rites of passage, myth folklore and storytelling, and land-based folk traditions. While a lot of our time together may look like an array of educational, emotional, and hands-on support, these interests are some of the larger threads that weave together the foundation of how and why I show up. Birthwork is community work, and I feel reverence for every family I get to support.

As your labor and birth doula, I ensure you have informed consent each step of the way. I offer comforting touch and relaxation techniques, as well as labor positions that may provide ease throughout labor. As your postpartum doula, I assist you in your family’s transition, attuning to you and your baby’s specific needs.

When I’m not doula-ing, I’m probably spending time with my partner Sam, knitting, sipping coffee at my favorite cafe, or taking nature walks.

I would love to hear from you if you are curious about working together!

Take care, Alex
